HEAVENLY BANQUET

"We cannot love God unless we love each other; and to love we must know each other. We know (God) in the breaking of bread, and we are not alone any more. Heaven is a banquet and life is a banquet, too, even with a crust, where there is companionship."
Dorothy Day

Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the good news proclaimed to them. Lk. 7:22

August 1, 2010 - The 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time

From the parable of the rich man in the gospel today, Jesus wishes hearers to take away the point that rather than attempting to "store up treasure" for oneself, a person should seek to be "rich in what matters to God".
